You can keep a distance because he doesn't heal, but when he does get me (he gets me a lot with his jab attack when I think he's going for something else) I'm unable to heal.Of 2 - Save Editore / Voce - wrote in Dark Souls 2 Mod Talk: All those who work or have. Phase 2 is easy to bait and is more telegraphed. The only thing holding me back is poor estus management, but he punishes at such small mistakes in phase 1 and chips small amounts of health away and until you know it you've reached phase 2 with no estus. Literally if I had enough estus phase 2 would be way easier. Anyways, by the time I make it to phase 2 (if I even manage to make it to phase 2), I'm either out or almost out of estus. I've been running from his curved sword and I've considered just running from his spear but I want to be able to punish him when he goes to heal because my sword has bleed and sometimes I'm able to negate the healing with enough hits. That thing punishes if you mess up and really screws me up. I'd heard he wasn't too bad and even Pontiff is harder than him so I figured a few tries and I would be done. I reached soul of cinder today after a relatively easy time with twin princes, so I was feeling pretty confident. This is my first souls game and first playthrough.
